CARGILL
Tank Access and Agitator Support
INDUSTRIAL FOODS
PROJECT PROFILE
LOCATION
Nashville, TN
COMPLETED
2018
PROBLEM STATEMENT
Cargill required coordinated delivery of fiber-reinforced polymer baffled tank with nozzles, agitator motor support, and maintenance access structure for introduction of highly concentrated acids into a wastewater treatment system.
TIMELINE
ADVANTIC SCOPE
Advantic engineered the agitator support and access structure to meet project and code requirements, generated PE-stamped design documents and calculations for local permitting authorities, fabricated the structure, and performed field installation support. Further, Advantic procured a filament wound FRP tank from a reputable supply chain vendor.
TECHNICAL APPROACH
Advantic structural engineers utilized fiber-reinforced polymer structural profiles to meet Code-prescribed strength and serviceability criteria for the support and access structure. Design included dynamic considerations for the agitator. Further, Advantic engineers specified, coordinated, and managed the quality plan for the FRP filament wound tank to ensure compliance with Cargill and ASME RTP-1 design standards.
ECONOMICS
By integrating design and supply of the coordinated tank and structure, Advantic eliminated the risk of scope gaps and coordination, and ensured quality delivery of an advanced materials solution for the corrosive environment.
